Karen Palmer started The Little Blue Barn with a little red bench she built from an old headboard — painted bold, loaded into her truck, and sold before it ever made it inside. That moment launched a business rooted in something simple: great design should feel accessible, not intimidating.
As a military spouse and mom of two, Karen understands the reality of designing for real families — tight timelines, big moves, and spaces that need to work as hard as the people living in them. She blends a lifelong love of color (learned beside her mom in the back garage putting together wedding flowers) with years of hands-on staging, sourcing, and styling experience.
